Embroidery Attempts

Another board (and another project) complete! Tonight I was able to post to the Needlework board - check out my first attempt at embroidery:

I'm not thrilled with the starburst/asterisk type thing in the middle of the larger stars and - even though I like the bolder look - using three threads on the outer border of the larger stars just doesn't look right. So, I tried the same design on the opposite corner of the handkerchief with just one thread:

I'm happier with the look, but I still need lots of practice. Fortunately, I really enjoyed working on the embroidery - it was oddly relaxing. There are so many different stitches to learn ... but anyway, here's the post on Craftster.
